Looking to escape the Phoenix, we stayed at this property for a long weekend June 2016. The home is exactly as described, clean, nice & plentiful linens, well appointed kitchen, a closet with a few kid games. The home is in a gated community with access (With paid resort fee) to a nice pool/clubhouse, fitness center, large shaded kids playground, and kid rec center (free video games). The home backs to the forest & we felt that we had plenty of privacy (although there are neighbors close nearby). The only nit is that we wished the second bedroom had a dresser. The master and bunk rooms do. The owners were extremely prompt at returning all messages. I would most certainly book with them again.
This second time we stayed at this cabin and both times it was wonderful. This property is decorated with a cozy but modern feel. It is extremely comfortable and comes with everything you could need to have a great stay. The place is clean and well maintained. The neighborhood is also well maintained and has security. Show Low is small enough for that small town feel, but has everything you could need. Only two recommendation for the property is to clearly say in the advertisement that the clubhouse amenities are seasonal at an extra cost and that requesting early and late checkout is an additional fee as well. Actually the cost of early and late checkout is not proportional to the cost of the property. You might as well just purchase an additional night at the rate they offer. The standard Check-in time is too late at 4:00 pm and the standard check-out time is rather early at 11:00 am. But, other then those couple things the property is exceptional.
This was just a phenomenal vacation. Our original plan was to rent a cabin but then head out the Sunrise to go snowboarding and skiing. Quite honestly, I did not want to leave. The location was superb and our stay could not have been better. Everything was so convenient. I must say when we arrived I could not figure out how the lock at the cabin worked. I contacted the owner and she immediately assisted me. She had every base covered from start to finish. When we had questions she was just a phone call away. I must say that we WILL be using this cabin again. My family requests that if you plan to rent this cabin please treat it like your own home as we want to return to the perfect environment in which we found it (and left it) this trip. By the way, this cabin is pet-friendly (with a very small surcharge).
We were more than pleasently surprised by the cabin. We were WOWED! Our family spanned the ages of 5 to 73 yrs and everyone was happy, comfortable and relaxed. The kitchen had everything I needed to cook all of our meals and had many basic cooking items that folks often forget. We forgot to bring coffee for that first morning and lo & behold someone had left some for us to have a pot before taking aquick run to the local grocery. The beds were comfortable, the grill ready to use and we totally enjoyed atrip to the playground. We would definitely recommend this cabin and look forward to renting it again.
Five good friends were looking for a cool place to relax and catch up on a deck while gazing at pine trees and this house delivered exactly what we were looking for. The cabin is beautifully decorated with wood furniture, high quality beds and linens and unique artwork. The deck and porches are very private and the back deck has a swing and four comfy chairs where you can sit for hours while looking out into the forest. We loved every thing about this cabin. My only hesitation in recommending it so highly is that it won't be available next time we are looking for a place! Torreon is a high quality development which is scenic, safe and quiet. We had one small problem when we checked in but Sara was very responsive and took care of it immediately. This is an A+ property.
My mother, my 3 nephews, our dogs, and I had a terrific time at the Torreon cabin. Everything was very clean (with the exception of a few spiders, but as you're in the woods, this is to be expected.) There was plenty of room for all, and as I had recently had spine surgery I can tell you the beds are super comfortable. We all very much enjoyed the back deck, and despite the fact that there ARE neighbors, at times it really felt as though we had the woods all to ourselves. The people are very friendly within the community of Torreon & in Show Low in general; I guess that's why we return year after year. Be sure to wake early and watch the sunrise from the deck - it's truly breathtaking. Star viewing at night is also highly recommended; I took some truly wonderful photos during our stay. Our little band of AZ travelers would undoubtedly recommend this cabin & its wonderful owners to anyone wishing to escape the heat and/or fast pace of Phoenix living.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 5-night stay. The cabin provided plenty of space for our family of four - including our Shih Tzu. The interior design is warm and welcoming -- and very well maintained. The back deck was our favorite spot, surrounded by pine trees and very peaceful. The bikes provided were a welcome surprise. The gated community offers wonderful surroundings and many amenities. We loved hiking - and riding horses at the Equestrian Center. The area is close to gas stations and the grocery store -- and a short jaunt to Pinetop/Lakeside. There is a nice collection of boutique and antique shops in the area. The nearby lakes offer a variety of activities. We just hated to leave! My family has been renting homes in the White Mountains for more than 16 years. This is No. 1 on our list.
We enjoyed our stay in June. Even though this cabin is in a neighborhood, once you step out on the beautiful back porch you feel like you are in a private forest. The cabin had enough room for our group of five adults. Two bedrooms had king size beds and the third room had a bunk bed with full mattress on top and bottom, all very comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked with all the dishes, pans you need also a grill outside. Our favorite was setting outside every night around the fire pit. Torreon is a great place to walk along the beautiful golf course. Fools Hollow State Park is close, we enjoyed renting kayaks ($15.00 per hour). Many places to go hiking. Safeway just down the street plus other stores. Bision Golf Course just five minutes away, good course. Sara Medina was very easy to contact and helpful if we needed anything. We look forward to staying here again in the future!
The cabin was very comfortable and had everything we needed in the kitchen. My grandkids were thrilled with the big bunkbeds. Torreon had everything that a family could want; pool, kids activity room, playground, basketball court and a nice restaurant. We loved evenings on the deck and even though we were in a neighborhood we felt like we were in a secluded forested area.
We stay at a lot of different cabins in the Show Low/Pinetop area and this has been one of our favorites! It was clean and well stocked with every thing we needed. The beds were very comfortable with high quality linens. The back porch is amazing! You cannot see any other cabins and it feels very secluded. Though we paid the $50 fee to use the activity center, it was not available and apparently is only open on the weekends during the winter. So, double check if it will fit your schedule before you pay the extra fee. We would highly recommend this cabin!
We took our daughter, her husband and 3 young children (9, 6, and 3) for a 2 week vacation. The property was absolutely perfect for our family. As promised, the house was clean and well maintained, and the big enclosed porch with swing was a big hit with everyone. The kids loved playing "castle" under the deck and hopefully, the neighbors enjoyed their never-ending, enthusiastic rendition of "Let it Go" from Frozen! We took advantage of the fire pit to roast marshmallows one evening. The king beds in the large bedrooms were very comfortable with good quality sheets. The kids loved their room with bunk beds and trundle. A quality washer and dryer were a huge plus. The Torreon amenities were excellent. We loved the exceptional playground, tennis courts, family center and pool. The restaurant had a super happy hour menu which we enjoyed on more than one occasion. Fool's Hollow Lake is just a 10 minute drive from the property where we enjoyed kayaking and fishing with the kids. We had a minor glitch with the front door handle. Sara was immediately reachable and the problem was solved within the hour. This cabin will be our first choice when next we visit Show Low. Would love to be there in the winter. We have already recommended this property to friends.
The bedrooms were clean and the showers were hot. The view from the back porch afforded us views of pine trees, jackrabbits, and golden eagles. During the week, I enjoyed the peace and quiet of the Torreon cabin, and managed to read four books. My wife and daughter went to Sedona for a day of Pink Jeep Tours which they enjoyed tremendously. Another day trip to the Petrified Forest brought a unique experience. We enjoyed walking our puppies along the golf course paths. The gas regulator on the grill did not work, even with a new gas tank, it just would not get hot. So we opted for a small charcoal grill purchased at the nearby K-mart. Once we did not feel like cooking, so we grabbed a quick dinner at Panda Express next to the Super Walmart. I had never used a pilot light in the gas fireplace before, but found a youtube video to explain that you have to depress the knob in the pilot position to make it feed gas to be lit. And you have to hold it for 30 seconds, before turning to "on" position. Usually, the switch is fully automatic for a gas fireplace, so that was novel and unexpected. Glad to have the wifi cable internet connection available in the cabin. The dining area was nice, and the table was surrounded by sturdy chairs. The sofa sat 3, while the armchair sat one. So not all seven sleepers can sit in the living room at the same time. There were four chairs and one swing on the patio, but obviously someone previously had used wood in the firepit, since some wayward embers had burned holes in the chairs. We followed the instructions and just used a firelog, so had no issues with the firepit. If you run out of firelogs or other supplies, there is a nearby Safeway which also has gas, a K-Mart, and a Walmart. Both the heat and AC worked great in the unit. The cabin had a high up picture window which needed cleaning, so I cleaned it and improved the view of the pines. The sliding doors and easy to reach windows were all clean when we arrived. We left a full gas tank, and there was an empty next to the grill. Both were amerigas, which can just be exchanged at circle K on the corner down the road. We were thankful that both the front and back porches had latched gates, and this prevented our eager-to-walk puppies from getting loose when a door opened, before we could attach the leashes. The washer and dryer in the unit allowed us to pack lightly and wash clothes midweek during our stay.
We absolutely loved this cabin, it was beautiful, very clean and felt like home! Even though it is in a neighborhood we felt as though it was very private especially when we were on the gorgeous deck. The torreon amenities were also great, we were able to enjoy the fishing pond and the game room while we were there! We would highly recommend this cabin to everyone especially those with children!
I would say the property actually exceeds the pictures if anything. We stayed at the cabin for 4 nights over Fall Break and it was nothing but delightful. Sitting on the deck and enjoying the firepit was an every night event! It was so great as it offers more privacy than other cabins in Torreon. The cabin is well appointed, nicely decorated and gave us a true getaway over the break. The only complaint would be that the den seating was not particularly comfortable for our family of 4. But everything else was phenomenal. We grilled outside, walked Torreon grounds, rode bikes and just vacationed. My kids kept saying it was the best vacation ever! That is the largest of complements as my kids have been all over this country, from San Diego to Maine. The beds were very comfortable and the cabin was very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed. My daughter and I enjoyed our meal at the Clubhouse very much while the boys went fishing. Nick was extremely quick to respond to my questions, and extremely helpful.
We had a wonderful time in Torreon. We got there close to 9pm, pity, and left short of 11am on Sunday. The cabin had everything we needed and it was very clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the home was nicely decorated. The back porch was great to relax and have a view of the pines. We'll check out the winter weather next time we we have a chance...
This Show Low cabin was everything we'd hoped for; spacious, airy, bright, and peaceful. Many days, we began with breakfast on the huge deck (no other people or houses in sight!) and found ourselves still sitting there when lunchtime arrived. After a few more hours of relaxing at the pool, hiking or working out, we were...back on the deck again. Sara and Nick were extremely helpful prior to our arrival, and during our stay when we called upon. Over the years, we've rented many places in a variety of climates and geographical locations. Simply said, this home was among the best we've ever had the pleasure of visiting.
We had a wonderful stay in Torreon. The house was the perfect size for the three of us. It would also be great for a family with the bunk beds in the third bedroom. The back patio was fantastic and it felt like you were in the woods alone (you could not see any of the neighbors houses from the patio). Clean, comfortable house with everything we needed!
We loved our long week-end here. This is the fist vacation rental that we've ever rented that more than lived up to its website photos. Great views, exquisite decor, top-of-the-line construction and attention to detail. Private! Great Safeway nearby. See you again. The Robertsons
We had a great time at the cabin. Everything was clean and well laid out. The time we where there the area was experiencing some very high temperatures. The A/C thermostat would reset on its own to a higher temperature which at times made it uncomfortable especially at night. Other than that we had a great time and we will stay again. Thank You
We stayed at the lovely cabin in the pines, and it was one of the most relaxing trips we have had in a long time. The cabin was immaculate and it had everything you need, and the view from the back was so beautiful. I will definitely go back for another relaxing visit to the cabin.
We stayed at the Show Low cabin over the 4th of July long weekend and just loved it. The house is well appointed, comfortable, and in a beautiful setting. We settled in right away and didn't want to leave come Sunday! I would highly recommend this as a rental and I am already planning my next trip!
We just returned from spending Memorial Day weekend at the Torreon Cabin and had an amazing time! The pictures are accurate-the property is beautiful. The cabin is cozy, but roomy enough for everyone, clean, and in the perfect location. We really appreciated how well-stocked it was with all the basics-even toys for the kids, bicycles and fishing poles! We'll definitely be back!
Nick and Sara's Torreon cabin was exactly as pictured and described. It was beautiful, comfortable and well furnished. The lot and view were incredible. Peaceful doesn't describe our stay there. We plan on going back in the near future and highly recommend this property. The entire process was fast, simple and went exactly as planned and directions were perfect. Thanks for sharing your wonderful cabin.
We stayed in the cabin in Show Low for 2 nights at the end of January 09. The cabin was beautifully decorated, extremely clean, and in a great location. My favorite part was the view looking out the back of the cabin. There are no other cabins in sight so it feels very private. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone.
We have stayed at many nice cabins in the White Mountains, but this one was perfection. We arrived Thanksgiving afternoon, and it was snowing. We fired up the wonderful fireplace immediately, and it warmed right up. We found it very easy to operate. The TV and stereo system were the nicest of any of the places we have stayed. There is a nice garage. The beds are very cozy. The view of the woods behind the cabin is so peaceful; you would never know you are in a gated community. Sit and relax on the deck, and it feels like no one else is around. We also felt very safe here. If you are looking for peace and quiet, and some serenity, this is the place for you. Our stay was not long enough, and we can hardly wait to return. Jane P. and Marge L.
